In Conversation Newsletter

When the Ministry of Education was interested in creating a series of discussion papers for school principals, they asked us to develop an appropriate template.

These papers were intended to stimulate professional learning, facilitate the sharing of critical leadership perspectives, and support leadership development in Ontario’s schools. To that end, we developed a newsletter that could communicate this information in a welcoming and comprehensible way.

We first established the newsletter masthead with intriguing graphics to draw readers in. For example, we used a combination of illustrated gears and multi-coloured wavy lines, with the gears being reflective of the human thought process, and the lines suggestive of different voices “in conversation.” Applying similar elements to the body of the newsletter allowed us to inject diversity and interest to the piece.

Created in both English and French, the newsletter was well received overall.
